Style Icon #2 - Florence and the Machine

I bought Florence and the Machine’s album on Saturday, and I’m very impressed! I don’t often buy CDs because they’re so expensive, but this one was definitely value for money. I hope I don’t ruin it by listening to it too much!

The lead singer, Florence Welch, has an incredible, powerful voice (I’m not a music expert, but it definitely appeals to me). If you haven't already heard it, the music is kind of soul-ish indie, and the songs sound really magical.

Florence always has great outfits - quirky, cute and vintage clothes mixed together in an unusual yet brilliant way. It has inspired me to be a bit more experimental with the outfits I put together! What does everyone else think?

Oh, and I completely love her hair. I wish mine could go like that! I’m thinking of dying mine a bit darker and redder – I have done before, but it was only semi-permanent so it faded out really quickly.

And the song that I'm completely addicted to:

I'd like to say a big thankyou to Carrie from wishwishwish.net for featuring my blog on a recent post!

I actually love her. I dyed my hair that colour, accidently because the label lied but its cool. She wears some amazing outfits, I agree.

I havent actually listened to her album yet, I'll have to, I'm seeing her live on her Uk tour in september, can't wait!

I saw her at Glastonbury! I wasn't a fan at all but my friend dragged me along & I have to say, they are an INCREDIBLE live act. Like, one of the best I've ever seen. Such a voice! And I have complete hair envy too. I think you should definitely dye it -- your hair would look lovely red! :) x

Before Florence and the Machine I hadn't come across anyone with a voice even remotely like hers who has a dark streak in her songs.
(Even the most beautiful voice can't make saccharine sweet bla lyrics enjoyable for me.)

I am completely hooked and the videos are great too :-)
