Winter Tartan

I had hoped to be able to show you the photoshoot pictures today - but they're still not quite ready! So instead I thought I'd show you the photos of my outfit from the other day :). It's quite a preppy look, mainly due to the loafers and the tartan skirt - hopefully it's not too 'school uniform' though!

The skirt, believe it or not, is a size 18! It needed to be folded under and held up by my belt haha. I bought the skirt in a charity shop and it was very very long, so it had a bit of my re-hemming treatment and now it's a much more wearable length. The worst thing about re-hemming it was ironing the new pleats in - such a nightmare. I may be avoiding pleated sewing projects in the future because the ironing takes such a long time... & I'm really scared that the pleats will wash out when it goes in the washing machine.

In other news, I did an interview over at Miss Onic! Definitely check her blog out if you haven't already, its absolutely beautifully presented and she has great style!
(To read the interview, go here).

P.S. I am considering getting a hair cut - possibly a long bob! But I really don't know it it would suit me! I just want to add a bit of volume and stop my hair being so flat really. Does anyone have any thoughts on what would look nice?

i'd love to have straight hair like you, but that porobably isn't going to help you ;) but i think a bob would look great on you as well!

I think your hair is a lovely length, a bob would look great but maybe just a different fringe? thicker maybe? And I love the whole outfit! :) ♥

Love the interview, you are so sweet and veyr modest! I think you would suit a long bob, but a shorter one even better. You have the right shape face for a bob and I fully approve! Keep up with the great blog xxx

I love this plaid looks you've got here! I think a washing machine would definitely wash the pleats away. What about dry cleaning?

I do love your hair the way it is, but change it always good.

I love the skirt! And a perfect example why nobody should follow size as a number; everybody forgets that some things just fit differently and with a bit of sewing here and there - or clever belting, in your case - you can adjust it into an awesome item that fits you perfectly.

Really love how the bag sets the whole outfit, too. You go girl!

I love your blog. A bob would look nice but i think having hair loose round shoulders looks really nice on aanyone. Maybe you could get a fringe or colour it? x

Cute hat. Personally I love your current hair, but whatever you choose will look fine! (:

love the outfit, you ought to check what face shape you have first before you cut it so you know what would suit you best, and maybe layer it if you want it to look less flat, also it should reflect your style and personality :]

You look lovely. Maybe don't wash the skirt, I do think the pleats will ruin... dry clean. And your hair would look great in a longish bob but as I slowly grow out my hair I can't help but be envious of your length...

i love the teal color with the purples and the touch of browns in the outfit . very perfect for fall !

maybe u sud take the skirt to the tailor and stitch the pleats so they stay in place ??

Love your style and vintage finds! I think a long bob would look great on you, but if you don't like it, I'm sure your hair will grow back soon enough!

very cute outfit
i don't know about you but a haircut always makes me feel a whole lot better. i used to have long wavy hair but i cut it short; feels really nice - especially if you've been really stressed!
